The Woolpack Inn is a short drive away from Chichester train station which was perfect as we arrived on a Sunday evening. We received a warm and friendly reception and were promptly checked in. Once settled, we enjoyed a lovely drink and were able to take in the surroundings, my friend and I both agreed that the place had a good vibe. The Woolpack Inn itself is deceptively large with lots of seating areas, lovely decor and fresh flowers on each table. It is tastefully decorated and has a really chilled out ambiance. There is also a large family beer garden out back which was great for the warm weather. We were fortunate to attend the open mic night the following evening, we met some lovely people and enjoyed it so much that we were already planning our next trip down! The room I stayed in was nice and spacious, there was a fan, a heater, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Another plus was that there was a water cooler just down the hallway so we had ice water literally on tap - this was a godsend as during our stay the weather was lovely and warm. I had an endless supply of clean towels and the cleaners came each day, so the room was beautifully clean on my return from a long day of learning. My only gripe was that there was no hand soap in the bathroom, but I think they left all the toiletries in my friend’s room next door! Overall, I would definitely recommend a stay at the Woolpack Inn. The people running the place are so welcoming and friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay there perfect. My friend and I are gutted that we’re going to miss the next open mic night!

The Hotel is very well positioned and kept exceptionally clean. All staff are friendly and make you feel at home. The food is excellent, including breakfast and the Friday evening carvery (at an extra £12 pp). The breakfast is freshly cooked to order that is submitted the evening before. The accommodation is in an annex which makes for a quiet stay. The access is next to the car park and is secure, via a code on the front door and a key access to your room. There is a regular bus service into Chichester about 100m from the front door and a drop off on return outside the Hotel. The hot water is plentiful and the shower has excellent pressure. I would only make one constructive criticism above..

Room had unexpected touches like fresh flowers on the window sill and an overnight light in the bathroom which gave us enough room to see by on our nocturnal trips. Bed was comfy, plenty of tea, coffee and milk to go with the kettle, lovely and warm too, and very quiet. Evening meal, which I'd pre-booked, was an excellent value for money carvery. I liked the idea of pre-booking exactly what you wanted with your included hot breakfast - we had to hand in the form the previous evening - and everything was cooked as we arrived so was lovely and fresh. Friendly, helpful and smiling staff too.

Linda

Although we had requested a quiet room, we were initially put in one facing the main road. However, the staff were very helpful in rearranging things so we had two nights in quiet rooms. All the staff were friendly and helpful and I would stay there again. I enjoyed the breakfasts.

David

Ordered 2 poached eggs on toast for both of us, followed by toast & marmalade. eggs were over poached, hard not runny and the bread was soggy and tasteless, as was toasted bread and what was an excuse for marmalade, I don't think it had ever been near an orange
